Lone Scout Badges of Office

There were several badges in addition to the degree badges, which Lone Scouts earned and were allowed to wear on their uniform. The most notable of these was the Tribe Chief badge. This was worn when a Lone Scout had been elected as the Chief of the Tribe to which he belonged. There were many tribes in Lone Scouting and the boys who belonged to them were fiercely loyal to their tribe and there was a great deal of good-natured rivalry amongst them. This was especially true when a Lone Scout Rally was held such as those in Chicago, Baltimore, New York and other places. A Lone Scout who was his tribe's captain attending one of these rallies and able to wear the Tribe Captain badge was one very proud young man.

Later, there was a Tribe Chief's badge issued for the same office and could be worn as a substitute for the Tribe Captain's badge. It was the choice of the individual Lone Scout himself.
