Lone Scout Degrees and Degree Books
The first degree tests were published in Lone Scout magazine. Later, each degree was afforded its own book. In addition, there were combination degree books published. The Tepee Lodge book was composed of the First, Second and Third Degrees. The Totem Pole Lodge book was composed of the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Degrees. The Sagamore Lodge book, i.e., the Seventh Degree, was always published alone.
The combined book for the Tepee Lodge came out first after publication in Lone Scout and were discontinued with the issuance of the seven separate Degree books.
Degree books were published by the Long House beginning in 1916. This continued until 1924 when the Lone Scouts of America merged with the Boy Scouts of America.
